Suitability} Mitsuru is noted as being very mature for his age. He can handle himself in formal situations with ease despite having grown up as an ordinary Japanese child, albeit with a particularly traumatic past. It’s this that enables him to survive by himself in a magical fantasy world wrought with shadier individuals who, quite frankly, would love to see him dead.
It’s also probably worth mentioning that due to his beliefs about the nature of this world, he had absolutely no problem with slaughtering a high number of people (including a good portion of a certain capital city’s population) because they were a) no longer of use to him or b) posed an actual threat.
